How do I know which technology was installed on my system?
Select the control below:
The KE2 Evaporator will only defrost when necessary, based on the actual efficiency of the evaporator. This saves energy, keeps your products at a more stable temperature, prevents frost and water droplets from forming on wall/ceilings/floors, and minimizes freezer burn and products sticking together. The KE2 Evaporator will initiate slightly more defrosts during the first few days after the install, as the controller “learns” your evaporator, but the defrosts will space out and continue to adjust as it operates. If it seems the controller is defrosting often, if you notice frost/water droplets forming inside the space, or if there is ice buildup on the evaporator itself, please contact Budderfly.

LED Color Guide:

Solid Green
The KE2 Evap is telling the system to refrigerate. If the compressor is not running, or the system is running but the space is not getting cool, there is likely an issue with the refrigeration system outside of the controller, and a technician is required.

Blinking Green
The KE2 Evap will start or stop refrigeration shortly. Minimum run and minimum off timers prevent refrigeration starting or stopping too often in order to protect the compressor.

Yellow/Amber
Cautionary alarm. An alarm message will appear instead of the room temperature. This should be communicated to Budderfly Customer Support. A high temp alarm should be addressed immediately. Addressing these cautionary alarms properly will prevent a more serious high temperature situation in the future.

Red
Critical alarm. The controller is unable to refrigerate without damage to the compressor. Very few alarms are critical, but if present must be addressed as soon as possible.
The NRM device is an advanced refrigeration control that is designed to regulate your walk-in freezers or refrigerator temperatures to maintain ideal temperatures and reduce excess energy usage. The control relays data in real-time to Budderfly’s Customer Portal to help monitor and alert you of any WIC/WIF temperatures that are varying too far from pre-determined temperatures, improper function of equipment, and even door alarms. If you have any issues with your NRM device, contact Budderfly Support.
